Starbucks knows people will buy something way over priced to feel like they’re part of a group. The people in question think they have taste or sophistication, but rather, it’s just coffee with some 2 cent seasoning.

mind of mine
i would not like to say like all that "its coz we pay" but then if you say coz "i pay" the question arises why do we pay we could simply not pay and have similar coffees from grocery store and home make it (or hit the 7 11s or gas stations coffee) the reason is Starbucks is a Brand name and drinking star bucks has more to it then just sipping quality coffee, its drinking a branded coffee that is renowned in US, in UK and dunno no where else so if Starbucks has something special to offer you make no ado but cough up whatever exorbitant prices they may ask

hope this does it
I love the coffees but I understand why they have to charge so much. The price includes, advertising, salaries, rent, daily store expenses, insurance, equipment, building more stores, and more stores, and more stores, and more stores. And closing stores, and closing stores. And last but not least, making $1,000,000,000 a year…..

There are many things that make starbucks whole bean coffee & specialty drinks cost more than other places. First of all, starbucks ensures that all of their coffee is purchased using ethical means. Starbucks also ensures that coffee farmers and their families are taken care of. Starbucks also uses 100% arabica beans. There are 2 types of coffee, Robusta beans and Arabica beans. The difference between the two i quality, and arabica beans are much more expensive (read more here: http://www.2basnob.com/coffee-beans.html) Starbucks spends so much time and money ensuring that they only buy the highest quality beans, therefore driving the price up for a pound of coffee.
Starbucks drinks in general cost more that places like McDonalds because they are mostly hand crafted to perfection. Every drink gets freshly steamed milk, and starbucks’ rich espresso in it. The time it takes to make the beverage is what drives up the price. For example, you walk into your typical restaurant and order a hot chocolate. Someone behind the counter presses a button on a machine and hot chocolate pours out. At starbucks, we make our hot chocolate pretty much from scratch. First, we make a fresh batch of our Mocha sauce every morning (Starbucks Mocha sauce is water, coca, and sugar). Next, we add mocha in a cup with vanilla extract, steam fresh milk, and mix together. Then we top it off with whipped cream that is also made from scratch, not bought in cans. Factors such as these improve quality of the drink significantly, but it also packs a harder punch on the wallet. As with anything in life, you get what you pay for.
