How do you order just regular coffee at Starbucks?

So, I’ve always gotten lattes and specialty drinks at S.bucks. I’ve always thought regular coffee can be made at home, so why order it at a place like S.bucks?
Well, I’m putting myself on a budget and would like to go there at least sometimes, but want to cut back on the $3-$4 drinks.

But, I don’t know what you ask for. Do they even make just a plain old regular brew?
I’ve seen the Pike’s Roast & Christmas Blend. Are those their regular coffees?

you can just say i would like a grande drip or coffee.

pike’s roast is their normal everyday coffee. christmas blend is a special brew done at the holidays. every day they serve pike’s and one other bold selection of coffee.

personally i can’t stand pike’s, it is bland. so I order the bold coffee of the day unless it is the espresso roast.

a venti will set you back $2.

Yes. You just ask for a ‘tall drip’ or a ‘grande drip’. Usually they have a ‘coffee of the day’, sometimes (rarely) they have a choice of two. As coffee goes, it’s not that bad, but not as good as I make at home.

The nice thing about asking for regular coffee is that the person at the cash register drops everything and gets it for you right away, so you don’t have to wait in line for the barrista making the espresso drinks.

Just go even less to make it even more speical when you go in and get the fun drinks. You don’t Have to go in there for coffee, just make it at home.

There is no sense in paying to much for coffee, just becuse you want to go in to Starbucks.

I only go to starbucks if I have a gift card – I am really cheap – order the daily grind and it’s less than $2. If you go inside, you have to add your own cream or half and half and sugar. In the drive thru – just say "daily grind regular size with half and half and 2 sugars".
If I don’t have a gift card, I make coffee at home with a vintage 1950′s glass pyrex percolator on the stove.

They have tons of regular coffees. But when I go to S.Bucks I spend about $20 a day!:)
