second turtle isnt trying to impress anyone right now with the ”name droping” cuz he only does it to get girls. which in the coffee shop is not the case.
hes simply mentioning ed burns to show drama how important it is for him to get to his audition. Especially since he hardly said it out loud and didnt care bout others.

clubdisney, i wasn’t exactly referring to just that when talking of subtleties. and turtle said the “ed burns” line, not drama. i was referring to the great writing in general, which indeed is above average, and indeed often gets wasted on the average viewer. Entourage and is an extremely intelligent show, and an “average” viewer is not. just stating a fact.

“We gotta get to Ed Burns.” -What’s so awesome is that both he and turtle never stop with the name-dropping and trying to impress people under ANY circumstance. “I’m gonna go get me a pilot.” The Drama golf-club bashing scene is another perfect example. Great writing always reveals something about the characters at every moment of the script. This show is unprecedented in my opinion and profoundly underrated and unawarded imo. Much of it flies over the heads of the average viewer.
