What is the difference between vanilla flavored coffee and a vanilla chai?
Jan 27th, 2010 by Coffee Lover
Vanilla chai should be black tea mixed with spices, including vanilla, and infused in somewhat watered-down milk. Vanilla-flavored coffee is ordinary coffee with vanilla flavoring added somewhere, possibly to the beans or as a flavoring syrup.
Since I’m answering a related question, I should point out that "chai" just means tea. Spiced tea can be called "masala chai".
