Home Remedies to Treat Kidney Stones

Drink more than your fill. Increasing your fluid intake should be your first step (and may be the only step needed) toward staying free of kidney stones. Six to eight 8-ounce glasses is the minimum amount you should drink every day. While water is always a good choice, other caffeine-free and nonalcoholic beverages count (although your doctor may caution you about drinking too much decaffeinated tea if you produce a high concentration of oxalates in your urine).
Exercise regularly. One of the many benefits of regular exercise is that it facilitates the passage of calcium out of the bloodstream and into the bones. The result: stronger bones and less risk of stone formation. If you need one more reason to lace up those walking shoes, recalling the anguish of a kidney stone may be a great motivator.
Dried French beans or Rajmah is an effective ingredient to get rid of all kidney problems including Kidney stones. Remove the beans from the pods, and slice the pods in small sizes and boil it in 4 liter of hot water in low flame for six hours continuously. Strain the liquid twice through fine muslin and cool it for eight hours. A glass of this fluid should be given to the patient every two hours throughout the day. The patient may consume it several times a week. Make sure you don’t prepare the decoction in plenty, as it will not work if it is more than 24 hours old.
Take one teaspoon each of basil juice and honey daily for six months.
This remedy is just simple lemon juice. Not lemon flavored drinks though, real lemon juice is what’s needed. Drink at least two ounces, and the kidney stone pain is usually gone within 15-20 minutes. The stone itself often dissolves within about 12-15 hours too.
If you drink caffeinated tea or coffee, you’ll need to drink extra water. Caffeine can dehydrate your body, and if you’re dehydrated you’ll be more prone to developing kidney stones.
Apples are useful in kidney stones. In countries where the natural unsweetened cider is a common beverage, cases of stones or calculus are practically absent. The ripe fresh fruit is, however, more valuable.
Drink a soft drink! What? If you drink at least 10 tall glasses of water per day and then accompany it with a soft drink, you can actually prevent the formation of kidney stones. A recent study has proven that phosphoric acid (in soft drinks) could dissolve and pass kidney stones in less than one day. For more about this remedy, please visit our website to see our guarantee.
A water-soluble fiber flush! That is a lot of words to say that you might need to eat a diet in high fibers to flush your body of everything including kidney stones. Water-soluble fibers include most vegetable and fruits.
Take vitamin C daily. The dose is variable. Some people can only tolerate 500mg a day, others take 4 to 5 grams without problem; check with your doctor first but a good dose is around a gram a day. This helps keep urine acid and prevent growth of organisms.
Basil has a strengthening effect on the kidneys. In case of kidney stones, one teaspoon each of basil juice and honey should be taken daily for six months. It has been found that stones can be expelled from the urinary tract by this treatment.

Need advice for treating kidney stones…. home remedy style.?
We took my boyfriend to the hospital on Friday and he was diagnosed w/ a kidney stone. 2-3mm. He’s having another attack right now… and he’s in the bathroom throwing up and won’t listen to any advice i’m trying to give him currently. Hm. I’m asking him to just drink a lot of water or apply a heating pad, but he says he’s too sick. I know he’s in a lot of pain… he usually doesn’t show it.
Um. What are some warning signs that I should take him into the ER again? Also, he’s already on perscription pain meds for this… but it doesn’t seem to help. Any advice on some more home remedies?
you kiding right, cus they should of induced them to come out chemicaly. If you are serious you should take him to the hospital cus stones are not a joke is a very serious condition and very painfull at that.

Unfortunately, it’s a little late for home remedies.
Take him to the ER now.
He needs IV medications and fluids to help him pass the stone.
There is nothing you have at home that will be strong enough to relieve his pain.
Take him there now and they will help him pass the stone and then analyze it. And then, with that information, ask your question again.
Go now.

I can understand what your boyfreind must be going through as i too had the same problem. Give him painkillers. An intraveinal injection does wonders. Make an appiontment with the doctor and have the stone either removed surgically or broken. a 2-3 mm stone can easily be broken by applyin shock waves. It is painless takes about 10 min and leaves no scar as the skin is never opened. BEST OF LUCK

mine weren’t big enough to be operated on. i would have to run a hot bath that i could get my back in, take 2 extrastrength aspirin/advil/etc, and would drink hot tea. that soothed it while it would be passing the first couple stretches, usually the third stretch would be while urinating and it would just pop out.
to prevent them in the future i try to drink lots of water, take cranberry pills (the pills try to keep the kidney linings free of debris), i don’t drink sodas and try not to drink too much tea or milk/dairy products in excess. there are kidney stone made of many different things, depending on what is consumed and how your body processes. my father in law had to have his sonically zapped they were so big.
