I use a $16 Chefmate popcorn popper from Target. It only takes 5.5 minutes to roast up 1/2 cup of green beans to a nice dark-brown color with just a bit of glossiness from the bean oil. The beans are from here on Oahu in Hawaii.

I recommend you cool the beans by pouring them between pots or colanders.
The movement through the air will cool them faster than sitting in the freezer and avoid any condensation.
